We’re thrilled to share that DBS has scored a hat-trick win at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2025 – receiving the top accolade of World’s Best Bank, World’s Best Bank for Customer Experience and World’s Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility. “At a time of economic uncertainty and rapid technological change, DBS stands out for its future-forward approach, focus on trust and reliability, and proven ability to realise value from technology investments,” said Dominic O'Neill, Head of Banking, Euromoney. Indeed, 2024 was a banner year for DBS. We achieved record financials: SGD 22.3 billion in total income, SGD 11.4 billion in net profit and 18.0% return on equity. We continued to invest in enhancing our customer experience. In 2024, we engaged over 13 million customers across the region through 1.2 billion AI-powered personalised nudges and more than doubled economic outcomes from AI to SGD 750 million through over 370 use cases. To help drive Asia’s transition to a low-carbon economy, DBS also committed SGD 89 billion in sustainable financing commitments net of repayments. Additionally, we pledged up to SGD 1 billion and over 1.5 million volunteer hours in the coming decade, to improve lives and livelihoods of the low-income and underprivileged in Asia. Receiving the awards on behalf of DBS last night, DBS CEO Tan Su Shan expressed her gratitude to all. She said, “To be recognised for our commitment to customers and society, who are at the heart of everything we do at DBS, is very gratifying. We will continue to be that trusted, purpose-driven and transformative partner that everyone can count on.” Our deepest thanks to our customers for their continued trust and support, and to our colleagues whose dedication and passion made these awards possible! "Back in the '90s, before e-balloting was introduced, my family and I used to queue up overnight at distribution centres for tickets to the National Day Parade. It was like our yearly tradition - we'd sit on folding chairs, snack on potato chips, as we stayed up to be the first in line. We had always been captivated by the event – the precision of the marching contingents, the visual spectacle of the flypast, the thunder of the gun salute, and of course, the magic of the fireworks lighting up our skyline. So when I got the chance to march in the SG50 NDP celebrations with the DBS contingent in 2015, I didn’t hesitate. I was finally realising my childhood dream of taking part in the parade. The experience was everything I was hoping for. Standing in formation, hearing the anthem ring out across the Padang, I felt completely at home. What I didn’t expect was to also meet my future husband. At the first rehearsal at Nee Soon Camp, I saw him – a trainer from the Republic of Singapore Air Force, who was assigned to our contingent. He was (and still is) devastatingly handsome, but what struck me more was how kind and thoughtful he was. He’d always make sure that everyone in our group drank plenty of water and took sufficient rest breaks. There was a real sense of kampung spirit. After rehearsals and marching with my fellow colleagues for hours under the sun, we’d often grab meals together. Until one day, when he asked me out to dinner alone, and we’ve never looked back since. A year, and many hokkien mee and prata dates later, he opened his car boot after dinner to reveal 99 blue roses and proposed under the stars. We got married soon after. Now in 2025, as Singapore turns 60, we’re picking up where it all began. I’m a reserve contingent commander for DBS, and he continues to serve as an Air Force engineer, training other parade groups. While we won’t be marching side by side this time, we’re still honouring the mission that brought us together. Over my decade with DBS, I’ve grown across different roles – from insurance to private banking. I’m now a KYC Specialist, where I support anti-money laundering efforts in the bank, helping to protect the integrity of Singapore’s financial system. It’s fulfilling work, knowing I’m contributing to something bigger than myself – a stronger, safer future for all. So as I march forward for SG60, co-leading our contingent, I’ll be carrying more than just a salute. I’ll be carrying the pride of being Singaporean, the gratitude for a company that’s helped me grow, and the joy of having found love in the most unexpected place. Majulah Singapura!” – Vivian Chua, Private Banking KYC Specialist, DBS #HumansofDBS #SG60 #HappyBirthdaySingapore

“We have a special position among the Singapore people. It’s very important to ensure that this heritage that we have inherited continues to actually serve its purpose for both the people as well as for the businesses in Singapore,” said DBS Singapore Country Head Him Chuan LIM. Since the early days of our nation-building, DBS has played a key role in supporting homegrown businesses – from bolstering our early industrialisation efforts to financing landmark developments. And now some 60 years on, Him Chuan reminds us that our purpose remains the same - to serve people, businesses, and the future of Singapore, even as the world changes around us. The latest US-EU trade agreement has significantly reduced proposed tariffs to 15%, down from the earlier floated 50%. At the same time, there is growing optimism around the US-China trade relationship, with a possible 90-day extension to the current tariff pause under discussion. Representatives from both countries are meeting today in Stockholm to advance negotiations. This development spells a mixed fortune for three European sectors. Automakers are likely to be the biggest beneficiaries with the reduced tariff compared to the 25% on other auto imports, while luxury goods face persistent risks due to subdued consumer sentiment and spending, despite relief from abating tariff uncertainty. The outlook for pharmaceuticals remains ambiguous with tariff outcomes under Section 232 still pending. “If your CEO doesn’t get it, you’ll fail.” — DBS Chief Data & Transformation Officer Nimish Panchmatia. At a recent dialogue, Nimish made it clear: real transformation starts at the top. If the CEO doesn’t champion the vision or commit to the journey, progress stalls. And that clarity of purpose must resonate at every level of the organisation.

What a week it’s been at our 6th Live Fulfilled Carnival! We were honoured to welcome Senior Minister of State Mr Kiat How Tan as the guest-of-honour at our annual marquee learning event, designed to empower employees to upskill and build career resilience to thrive in a fast-changing world. In his opening remarks, Mr Tan shared the importance of laying a strong foundation through the right infrastructure and support to help companies and workers harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He also emphasised a belief that AI will not replace human workers but will instead augment our potential for growth. At DBS, we share that belief too. That’s why we were thrilled to unveil a new generative AI-powered coaching platform called iCoach, complementing our suite of initiatives as part of our Triple E framework – Education, Exposure and Experience. Developed in partnership with world-renowned executive coach Dr Marshall Goldsmith, iCoach is a personalised, always-on virtual coach designed to support every employee in their career journey and unlock new potential. Drawing on DBS’ context of roles, functions and mobility pathways, it offers actionable advice that employees can use to take charge of their growth. At DBS, we’re committed to building a future-ready workforce that’s not only equipped with the right skills, but also inspired to live fulfilled. #LiveFulfilled #LifeAtDBS

“I still remember the sun on my back, as I stood in front of a crowd of seniors staring expectantly at me. It was over 15 years ago, when I was a branch service manager at the former POSB Potong Pasir centre. My supervisor had fallen ill that morning, and asked if I could help her conduct an ‘introduction to digital banking’ workshop. I was used to serving customers one-on-one, but there I was, public speaking for the first time at a field near our branch, laptop and projector screen propped precariously on a foldable table. Nervously, I began, not quite knowing how it would land – but as I spoke, something clicked. The seniors started nodding, leaning in, listening. With each moment, my confidence grew. This was something I could do. Something I wanted to do. Today – hundreds of presentations later – I continue my work with seniors as part of the anti-scam education squad – a cross-functional team focused on dialling up scam awareness and education across branches, community events and online platforms. My philosophy is simple: before we can even begin to teach the elderly about PayLah!, digibank, or any digital service, scam education must come first. We often encourage seniors to embrace new technology and stay connected, but none of that matters if they don’t feel safe. Staying vigilant and being able to spot scams is a safety net that gives them the confidence to navigate the digital world. As I’ve become a ‘young senior’ myself, I’m more aware of the fears that come with trying something unfamiliar. This is why I take pride in paying attention to the little things in our educational material, like font size, phrasing and language. Empathy is at the heart of this work. It’s not just about teaching, but about connecting and understanding, and building trust from there. I’ll never forget one session at a community centre where I bumped into someone unexpected: my former economics teacher. She said, ‘Now you’re teaching me!’ and we had a good laugh together. Over the years, many seniors have come up to me and said, ‘Miss Loh, I remember you.’ Some of them have even returned to help guide others. Although I don’t lead the workshops anymore, I’m still deeply involved in these sessions. I help validate anti-scam content with our anti-scam team and the Singapore Police Force, shape workshop materials, and support our branch colleagues in delivering them with confidence. (continued in the comments) #HumansOfDBS

Despite global uncertainties and US tariff pressures, Asia continues to attract strong investor interest. While exports in the first half of 2025 may have done well due to advance orders to stay ahead of tariffs, the more meaningful story may be the ongoing rise in portfolio flows to the region. Portfolio flows into Asia reached USD156bn in the first half of 2025 – accounting for 40% of total emerging market inflows, the highest figure in four years. Equity flows are rebounding, with USD18bn entering the region in May and June. China has made a notable comeback, drawing USD126bn across bonds and equities, reversing the outflow trend seen in recent years. Investor confidence appears resilient, with interest in Asian markets likely to sustain regardless of whether geoeconomic tensions abate. What’s driving the capital surge and where is it headed next?
